Q: How do I program two transmitters to the same opener?
Just received 2 transmitters for the Wayne Dalton Quantum door opener. Got one transmitter programmed correctly. How do I properly program the other transmitter to operate with the garage door opener as the 1st one. Basically how do I get them both on the same code frequency to open the door? One for my wife's car and the other one of course for myself.

A: Repeat the process you used to program the first remote on the second one.

A: You may program up to four (4) garage door openers per Keyless Entry Pad.

Q: How to Select the Correct Remote Control or Keypad
A: To select the correct remote controls, keypads, wall stations, and control boards for your Wayne Dalton Classic Drive garage door opener you will need to know the model/series number of your garage door opener (Quantum 3212, etc) or the radio frequency for your opener (303Mhz or 372Mhz).

To find the model number look on the sticker on the back of your garage door opener powerhead in the garage.
To find the radio frequency look on the sticker on the back of a remote control that operates the opener or on the sticker on the back of your garage door opener powerhead.
Q: I have lost the instructions for my keypad. Wayne Dalton 303 mhz. Can I get them from you?
A: Below is the webpage with instructions for your keypad. You can download and print them. Keypad Instructions
Q: I've programmed my Wireless Photoelectric Sensors. The Trolley travels a short distance from the Open position and reverses.
A: You must attach your garage door in order for the Wireless Sensors to function properly. These sensors are activated by door vibration. This helps conserve battery life because the sensors only turn on when the door is activated and moving.
Q: My garage door opener will work using the button on the wall in the garage, but the remote for the car will not work.
My garage door opener will work using the button on the wall in the garage, but the remote for the car will not work. I have changed the battery and still does not work. How do I determine if my problem is in the remote or the operator? Classic Drive Model 3012.

A: First try resetting your opener by unplugging the opener power head from the wall outlet. Wait 2 minutes and plug back in. Try your remote controls.
If that doesn't work try to reprogram your remote control to the power head using the steps below:

Programming Transmitter to Power Head Unit
Press the PROGRAM button located on the garage door motor head unit once. The PROGRAM STATUS light on the motor head unit will turn on and remain lit for one minute, indicating that it is ready to learn the Transmitter code.
Press the button on transmitter. The PROGRAM STATUS light will turn off indicating a successful learn.
Press the same button on the Transmitter once more to operate the door.
If you are unsuccessful in programing the transmitter to the motor head unit or if the button does not operate the door you probably have a faulty motor control board. A replacement board is found on this webpage: Wayne Dalton Classic Drive Control Board
Q: Weather Damage - Warranty?
A recent electrical storm (or other act of nature) affected my garage door opener, along with other appliances in my house. Is this covered by the product warranty.

A: No, acts of nature are not covered under the product warranty. However, check your homeowner insurance. These policies often cover damage due to acts of nature.
Q: What is the gauge of wire used for the wired Photoelectric Sensors and Pushbuttons?
A: 22 gauge wiring is used for our units. Using a different gauge of wiring could disturb the proper operation of your unit.
Q: What is the purpose of the A,B,C settings in the Wireless Photoelectric Sensors?
A: Emitter: Vibration Sensitivity Jumper Switch is located under one battery in the Emitter (Red LED). A=Most Sensitive, B=Normal, C=Least Sensitive. The benefit of the C setting is longer battery life. Transponder: Channel selector for additional doors/units is located under one battery in the transponder (Green LED). Use different settings for multiple transponders.
Q: What remotes are compatible with the Classic Drive 3012, and 3016?
I have one 2 button remote opener for a Classic Drive, Series 3012, 3016 opener. I need an additional unit. We have 2 garage doors that need to operate on the opener. Can you let me know what model opener I need to order? It is a 303Mhz opener.

A: There is only one remote control currently available for your garage door opener (303 mhz): Wayne Dalton Remote Control

There is also a wireless keyless entry keypad available: Wayne Dalton Keyless Entry Keypad
Q: What remotes are compatible with the Classic Drive 3012?
I have purchased a home where the previous owner did not leave the garage door opener remotes.  It is a Classic Drive 3012.  I saw remotes on your website and would like to purchase them, but would like more info about making sure the previous remotes will not be able to be used.  Will the new remotes come with instructions on how to make any other remotes not usable for safety purposes?

A: There is only one available remote control for the 3012 Classic Drive: Wayne Dalton Opener Remote Control.

The Wayne Dalton remote controls come with instructions for programming the remote control to your garage door opener.  You have to program in the remotes you buy until 8 positions have been used before you will bump off all previous remote controls programmed to the opener.  In other words, the garage door opener holds in memory 8 different devices (remote controls, keypad, wall station) and until you use all those positions with your new remote controls, any others programmed to it may still work.  There is no way to clear the memory....so just program it in, and start over and do it again.  The instructions that come with the remote control should make it clear to you.
Q: Wireless Wall Station will not program.
A: a) If you have a Green LED on your wall station, be sure to follow the Changing Transmitter Code (refer to Programming Wall Stations section of this Web site). b) If you have a red LED on your wall station, you only need to follow the Wall Station Programming instructions.
